<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been looking for a lamp to put in my daughters room. I finally
found one at a thrift store yesterday for $1.41. I have no idea where
they got that price, but yes, $1.41. <a href="http://www.babblingsandmore.com/2011/08/lamp-makeover.html">source.</a> <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After the makeover- the lamp is so cute and goes with Madi's room so well!! <a name='more'></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is the lamp before, I know- not very girly. It definitely needed a makeover. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjBc3J2CBsrzKVWMABNJJcAptkxTqHoU922yRT8BhThcFYvUoa_iX2DTpIWIPrfrt8v_2WLWvp4UJlqhmIWe7pKqFbW4B-JuMFTmkPfXBArTrafiagkiiFQlXokyLg4vPDd0CmCls8Ago/s1600/DSC_0031_edited-1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjBc3J2CBsrzKVWMABNJJcAptkxTqHoU922yRT8BhThcFYvUoa_iX2DTpIWIPrfrt8v_2WLWvp4UJlqhmIWe7pKqFbW4B-JuMFTmkPfXBArTrafiagkiiFQlXokyLg4vPDd0CmCls8Ago/s320/DSC_0031_edited-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did not want to spend any money, so I gathered items around the house- </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Spray Paint, Hot Glue, Lace and Material</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started to make flowers out of the material and glue them on the lamp
shade. I did not really know what kind of pattern I wanted, so I just
started making them and gluing them on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtkiL0CkFipCHCryyGQJ2qv8XTlkcsl6UaKpLkOQ70TWfTy3sNDcYmRfQ0Db5XETkSjlacWu1NSUY0QG_bkkoD2MMFY1KPX4ItFWFI4zZVmEBbrdwxdhOBd3cUrPQAilG_iaf4Q1W7yiE/s1600/DSC_0026_edited-1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtkiL0CkFipCHCryyGQJ2qv8XTlkcsl6UaKpLkOQ70TWfTy3sNDcYmRfQ0Db5XETkSjlacWu1NSUY0QG_bkkoD2MMFY1KPX4ItFWFI4zZVmEBbrdwxdhOBd3cUrPQAilG_iaf4Q1W7yiE/s320/DSC_0026_edited-1.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is how I made the flowers... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-ca1ym44OLv18bJ1Li9FeFLMUG1DI8BF8Cj-tOR_RiyXuWu1C6ja0Fzsuv-qm29_KN_n8RZT80ETIPAlWBTYMXIr412eUZ09V69V5y-mAOU6tna_ThxhUvrvjnFz7-ePlS9Z8ANUxiWc/s1600/DSC_0022_edited-1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-ca1ym44OLv18bJ1Li9FeFLMUG1DI8BF8Cj-tOR_RiyXuWu1C6ja0Fzsuv-qm29_KN_n8RZT80ETIPAlWBTYMXIr412eUZ09V69V5y-mAOU6tna_ThxhUvrvjnFz7-ePlS9Z8ANUxiWc/s320/DSC_0022_edited-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tear the material in about a 3 inch strip and tie a knot at the end.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCE8di7081Z6BpIzVllea55_Ahv3xoCCrG0cauH0RikkD1eNLfJTRCbjQLPv4rn4NnQuXguJi0zrSsU1z_fPvF73aGaBTUFFn4FkaNoDjHpMP5n6M4r1WQzlU1nPoj7JlFBfgdx0h3g7A/s1600/DSC_0024_edited-1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCE8di7081Z6BpIzVllea55_Ahv3xoCCrG0cauH0RikkD1eNLfJTRCbjQLPv4rn4NnQuXguJi0zrSsU1z_fPvF73aGaBTUFFn4FkaNoDjHpMP5n6M4r1WQzlU1nPoj7JlFBfgdx0h3g7A/s320/DSC_0024_edited-1.jpg" width="256" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Twist and glue the material as you twist it around the knot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ_C_akOKbLnADA66EBosmknhYZL4vsNqXjZPdYM0qK4dQc-3XgN9xFQ13brJYDghAXxLkmbwmdE6Y9d65lJGqGyyEVDz1Vu6HxtuaBt4krYtha9smr5i7fV-V1m5y6Ka5N_aBY-PRII0/s1600/DSC_0025_edited-1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ_C_akOKbLnADA66EBosmknhYZL4vsNqXjZPdYM0qK4dQc-3XgN9xFQ13brJYDghAXxLkmbwmdE6Y9d65lJGqGyyEVDz1Vu6HxtuaBt4krYtha9smr5i7fV-V1m5y6Ka5N_aBY-PRII0/s320/DSC_0025_edited-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Keep twisting and gluing until you get the desired size of the flower.</div>

<img alt="Pressed Flower Art" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-139832" height="400" src="https://mymodernmet.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/pressed-flower-art-0.jpg" width="266" />
Have you ever wished you could extend the life of a bouquet of
flowers? Doing so is easier than you think. And no, we haven’t found
some anti-aging miracle for plants, but we have discovered a lot of DIY
projects using <a href="https://mymodernmet.com/pressed-flower-art-diy/" target="_blank">pressed flowers</a>. By preserving and flattening these
blooms, you are giving them a new lease on life. Once dried—and
optionally, pressed—they can be used in many, sometimes unexpected,
ways.<br />
The preservation of plants is a long tradition that dates back to
ancient Greek and Roman times; pressing them was a way for botanists to
record and analyze different species. The practice continued to the
Victorian era, where the focus was on nature’s beauty to be admired
forever.<br />
Nowadays, our attitude towards pressed flower art is akin to the
Victorians. Thanks to Pinterest, the possibilities for what you can make
seem endless. From custom phone cases to wall hangings, the
applications range from practical to decorative—but each will get your
creative juices flowing.<br />

When it comes to scrubs, sugar has always stolen the
limelight. While we love sugar, there are so many delicious ingredients
and scents that deserve a little love. After all, sugar is not the only
scrub with beauty benefits. We are advocates of all things coffee and
the coffee body scrub is also good enough to eat. The caffeine in coffee
will work wonders on your lacklustre, sagging skin. You can whip up
this coffee face scrub recommended by cosmetologist Nandita Das with
just a few things in your kitchen. No doubt the smell of the mixture is
amazing but the glow you will get after use will be even better. The
biggest plus about this recipe is that you can double it up and use it
as a body scrub too.<br />

To prepare this delicious body scrub, you will need,<br />
<ul>
<li>1 tablespoon of coffee grounds</li>
<li>1 tablespoon honey</li>
<li>2 tablespoons of ground oats</li>
<li>2 tablespoons ground oats</li>
<li>2 teaspoons cinnamon powder<a name='more'></a></li>
</ul>
<strong>You need to follow these steps to prepare the scrub</strong><br />
Combine the coffee, oats, honey and cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir it
well to form a paste and then gently apply the mixture on your skin.
Make sure that you do not rub the mixture and pat it carefully onto your
skin, avoiding any contact with your eyes. Leave the mixture on to
settle for 20 minutes before you rinse your skin with lukewarm water. If
your skin is sensitive, make sure that you reduce the amount of
cinnamon or omit it entirely. Cinnamon does not suit sensitive skin. <a href="http://www.thehealthsite.com/beauty/10-natural-home-made-scrubs-to-get-rid-of-dead-skin-cells/"></a><br />

<strong>Perks of using the scrub</strong><br />
Coffee is rich in antioxidants that will prevent any free-radical

Honey will moisturise your skin and remove any blemishes and cinnamon

As the holiday season approaches, we tend to panic over what to get
friends and family. With everyday expenses and travel, the struggle to
find extra money in the bank by November and December is real. The easy
go-to gift is often a framed picture from a favorite memory together or,
you know, a candle. But what if you combined the two?<br />

As much as I love crafting and making
decorations, most of my time is spent creating for my clients’ painting
and wedding projects. I’d love to have a moment to try out projects
from Pinterest or think up some crafty goodness to share here on this
blog, but heck…I’m lucky if I can manage a load of laundry and keep up
with my kids’ schedules, while running this business and meeting work
project deadlines. I try to get into the spirit of each season by doing
some sort of decorating, but unless we’re hosting a holiday gathering,
the effort is limited to items we’ve saved from previous years or things
I find around the house. And it has to be something I can throw
together quickly. <a href="http://lovepaperpaint.com/2013/11/12/10-minute-diy-thanksgiving-decorations/" target="_blank">source</a>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, I’m keeping it short and sweet with
this post by sharing a really, really, REALLY quick DIY for
Thanksgiving. We’re going to a relative’s home for Thanksgiving Dinner,
so I just wanted something little for the mantel and our kitchen table.
Of course, I always have duck/duct tape <i>(yes, in gold)</i>…and with
leftover mini pumpkins from Halloween and leaves that had fallen from
the magnolia tree in our front yard, I put something together in about
10 minutes <i>(for each project)</i> while waiting for a load of a laundry to dry and for a client to give me print approval…</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="GOLD DUCT TAPE" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-9988" src="http://lovepaperpaint.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/GOLD-DUCT-TAPE.jpg" height="398" width="550" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Gold Duck Tape Pumpkins" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-9989" src="http://lovepaperpaint.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Gold-Duck-Tape-Pumpkins.png" height="2016" width="550" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="LEAF GARLAND" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-9992" src="http://lovepaperpaint.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/LEAF-GARLAND.jpg" height="413" width="550" /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="GRATEFUL leaf garland" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-9991" src="http://lovepaperpaint.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/GRATEFUL-leaf-garland.jpg" height="1956" width="550" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here’s a quick, easy and inexpensive idea for table coverings or placemats. Use kraft paper <i>(I cover the entire table with kraft paper, which I have a huge roll of at all times in my studio)</i>
and write “thankful for” with a few lines at each place setting. You
can draw some pretty designs to indicate each place setting or accent
where the plates and utensils will be placed. Write the guest’s name
above “thankful for” instead of using place cards. I’ve done this for my
ladies wine club so we can write down comments or ratings for each wine
and dinner parties for listing menu items. For appetizers and dishes, I
write the food indicators directly onto the kraft paper and draw an
arrow pointing to the actual dish. Clean up is a breeze…just roll up the
paper and toss in the recycle bin.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="photo" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-9997" src="http://lovepaperpaint.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/photo-550x550.jpg" height="550" width="550" /></div>

I often get asked how to print in metallic
gold foil at home. Although you can't print directly in metallic gold
from any home inkjet or laser printer, there are a couple of ways you
can add gold foil to your DIY wedding invitations right at home. <a href="https://swellandgrand.com/post/91471527789/how-to-diy-foil-wedding-invitations-diy" target="_blank">Source.</a><br />
Being the thrifty lady that I am, this first method is the least expensive one out there. to get started you will need:<br />
1. Inexpensive Laminator. I found this one for under $20 on amazon<br />
2. Deco Foil. Available in many colors, also on amazon. $6-7 for 5 6x12 sheets<br />
3. Laser printer. You can print on your own laser printer at home like I did, or use a place like staples. <em>Inkjet prints will not work. </em><br />

<h3>
How to DIY Gold Foil Invitations:</h3>
I started with one of my new <a href="https://swellandgrand.patternbyetsy.com/shop" target="_blank">Swell & Grand invitation templates</a>.
I customized the invitation at home using Word and printed the design
on my laser printer.In this example I am going to use gold foil on the
couple's names, so I made sure that those names were printed in a dark
black.<br />
<script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<!-- New Etrips Posts -->
<ins class="adsbygoogle"
style="display:inline-block;width:336px;height:280px"
data-ad-client="ca-pub-4617753975620567"
data-ad-slot="8031448869"></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script><br />
I then trimmed the design using a paper cutter.Next, I cut a piece of
gold foil to size and laid it on top of the part of the image I wanted
foiled. The foil will stick to any printed area, so make sure your foil
isn't covering any other text.<br />
This is the main factor in the cost of your DIY invitation, the more
foil, the more expensive. This amount of coverage allows me to get 25
invitations our of each roll of foil, costing me .30 cents an invitation
for the foil.<br />
I then took a regular piece of text weight copy paper and folded it
in half. Place your invitation with the gold foil on top inside the
paper folder. Place the folder insider the laminator. I had mine on the
5mil, high heat setting. You may need to use the lower setting
depending on how thick your card stock is. <br />
The invitation will take about 30 seconds to run through the
machine. Finally, open the folder and peel away the foil! I found that
smooth paper gives the best foil coverage. The resulting foil will not
chip, flake, or rub off.<br />
Check out the video at the top of the post or on Instagram to see it
shine. I couldn't believe how easy this was and how well the foil stuck!
<br />
I'm glad it was only $28 bucks to pick up the supplies and give it a
shot. Until I heard of this method I had been considering the Minc,
a $150 foil machine from Heidi Swapp. Besides the expensive price of
the machine, the foil sheets are also much more pricey. Using her
machine would pretty much negate any cost savings from DIY, so I'm not
going to review it. <br />

<br>
Sure, the $20 laminator isn't as cute as the Minc - but it does the trick!<br />
I'll break down the final cost for 100 DIY gold foil invitations
using this method and laminator for those budget savvy brides out there:<br />
Paper Source Cardstock: .19 cents per invitation<br />
Foil: .30 cents per invitation<br />
Laminator: 19.95<br />
Total cost for 100 invitations including supplies: $68.95 or .69 cents an invitation! </div>
